    State police detectives investigate after dead body located in Griswold

    Griswold — Detectives from the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime division are investigating after a body was found on Saturday morning in the area of Kenwood Road in Griswold, according to a state police news release.

    Troopers from the Montville barracks were dispatched at 9:23 a.m. after being notified a body had been found in the woods. Eastern District Major Crime Squad responded to the scene, and there is no threat to the community, the release said.

    The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an exam to identify the victim and determine the cause and manner of death, the release said.
