New London — New London police have identified the person found dead Monday in a parking lot on the former Edgerton School property.

Lebro Mei, 36, of no certain address was found a little after 7 a.m. at 120 Cedar Grove Ave., according to an email by New London police Capt. Brian Wright. Mei's next of kin have been notified, he said.

Chief Peter Reichard said Monday Mei's body showed "no overt signs of trauma" but it was too early to rule out foul play. Two high school students found Mei's body while walking to school. The New London Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene about 7:15 a.m.

The cause of the man's death remains under investigation. The New London County State's Attorney's Office and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner were notified and are assisting with the investigation.
