Groton — A motorcycle accident on Route 12 sent two people to the hospital with injuries Wednesday night.

Town police responded to a report of a motorcycle down in the area of Groton Square and Kentucky Fried Chicken at 8:05 p.m. Two people were riding on the vehicle when it crashed and both had to be transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries, Sgt. Jeff Scribner said. Their names were not released.

Officers were still at the scene investigating shortly before 11 p.m., he said. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident, or has information about it, is asked to call town police at (860) 441-6712.
