    UPDATED: Pennsylvania woman killed in I-95 crash in Waterford

    Waterford _ A Pennsylvania woman was killed Sunday afternoon when the car she was a passenger in was struck from behind by a pickup truck driven by a Waterford man in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in the vicinity of Exit 81.

    State Police said that at approximately 3:04 p.m., a Nissan Altima driven by Lynn Catalano, 79, of Branford and a Honda Civic driven by Adam J. Ringler, 31, of Mechanicsburg, Pa. were stopped in the left lane in heavy traffic just north of the weigh station.

    Police said that a Ford 250 pickup truck driven by Daniel P. Brockway, 29, of 6 Mallard Lane, Waterford, failed to slow for traffic and struck the rear of the Civic and then continued on to strike the rear of the Altima. 

    Police said that Leotie M. Miller, 25, of Newport, Pa., who was a rear seat passenger in the Civic, suffered fatal injuries. Catalano, Ringler, Brockway and another passenger in the Civic, Michael K. Fox, 34, of Mechanicsburg, Pa. all sustained minor injuries and were taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

    Police said the accident is under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call state police at 860-848-6500.   

    The southbound lanes of the highway remain closed into Sunday evening with motorists exiting the highway at exit 81.
