Norwich — A Willimantic man was arrested Thursday on sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor charges in connection with a Norwich incident, police said.

Richard Drena, 65, of 115 Card St., Willimantic, formerly of Norwich, was charged at 3 p.m. Thursday with risk of injury to a minor, sexual contact and fourth-degree sexual assault. He was released on a $75,000 cash surety bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Norwich Superior Court.

Police Lt. John Perry said the warrant in the case is sealed and he could not release details about the incident. He said police started the investigation in February, and the incident allegedly occurred in Norwich.
