    Canterbury man charged with embezzlement from East Lyme employer

    East Lyme — Police arrested a Canterbury man Wednesday on charges he embezzled $12,000 from his employer, The Tire Store in East Lyme.

    Christopher Saunders, 31, of 32 Bennett Pond Road was charged with second-degree larceny for what East Lyme police said was embezzlement of funds that occurred between March and June 2018.

    Saunders was released on a $12,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Oct. 4 in New London Superior Court.
