Stonington police crack down on seat belt violators

Stonington — Town police say they made 27 traffic stops last week as part of a state-supported safety campaign, issuing citations to 18 motorists who were not wearing seat belts.

The enforcement action took place during the statewide Thanksgiving Day Holiday “Click It or Ticket” campaign, Nov. 19-26. Stonington police participated in the campaign with the help of funding from the state Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office.
