    Norwich police swear in new officer recruit

    Norwich — Chief Patrick Daley announced that Daniel Goldberg, 36, was sworn in Thursday as the newest member of the Norwich Police Department.

    According to a news release from police, the officer recruit will enter the Connecticut Police Academy on Dec. 31 and is expected to graduate in June.

    Goldberg then will begin extensive field orientation training, police said, before being assigned a shift within the patrol division.

    Goldberg, a Manchester native who was raised in West Hartford, is a 2001 graduate of William H. Hall High School. He now resides in Stafford Springs.
