Groton — Town police on Thursday charged a 19-year-old with having 23 pounds of marijuana and $39,270 in cash at his 34 Lestertown Road home in February.
Police said Sage Baranski turned himself in on a warrant and was charged with possession of more than 1 kilogram of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana, possession of narcotics and operating a drug factory.
Police said Baranski wasn't home when they executed a search and seizure warrant at his home Feb. 26. In addition to the marijuana and cash, police said they found 735 marijuana vape cartridges, one bottle of a narcotic called Promethazine, two bottles of liquid tetrahydrocannabinol, better known as THC, and “various” marijuana edibles.
They applied for and received a warrant for Baranski's arrest afterward.
Police said information from an out-of-state law enforcement agency had led them to his home.
Baranski, who posted a $50,000 bond, is due April 15 in New London Superior Court.
