    Woman faces charges following knife assault in Norwich

    Norwich — A homeless woman was charged with assault and other charges after an altercation in which a victim allegedly suffered minor stab wounds to the neck, police said.

    Deborah J. Cooper, 50, was charged at 8 a.m. Thursday with second-degree assault, breach of peace and first-degree reckless endangerment and was held on a $75,000 bond pending arraignment in Norwich Superior Court.

    Police said Cooper was involved in an altercation with a small knife with a victim who was known to her. The victim suffered minor wounds to the neck. The victim was treated and released at The William W. Backus Hospital.
