New London police investigating second Bank Street robbery

New London – Police are searching for a suspect in a second weekend robbery.

Sunday's robbery at the Walgreens at 698 Bank St. comes a day after a robbery at the CVS at 817 Bank St. Police continue to seek suspects in both robberies and have released surveillance footage of the suspect from the two stores.

The suspect in the robbery at Walgreens, reported at 9:59 p.m., is described as a black man, between 5 foot 6 inches and five foot 9 inches tall with a medium build. The man was reported wearing a black T-shirt, black pants, a black baseball style cap, sunglasses and black and white shoes.

Police said the robber made off with about $200. Although a gun was not displayed, a Walgreens' employee reported that the man insinuated he had gun, police said.

The man in the CVS robbery, which occurred at about 8:24 p.m. on Saturday, is described as a black man, clean shaven, between 5 foot 7 inches and 5 foot 10 inches, with a "stocky" build. The suspect was reported wearing a gray hoodie, a black baseball cap, a black backpack and jeans.

Witnesses told police that though they did not see the man holding a gun, he was holding a "dark-colored object" and had insinuated that he had a gun. A vehicle description was not provided.

No injuries were reported in either of the robberies.
