Norwich man charged with assault in domestic incident

Norwich — A local man faces an assault charge stemming from an incident Wednesday in which he allegedly struck a live-in domestic partner in the head with an object, Norwich police said.
Ronald E. Loomis, 58, of 38 Lincoln Ave., Apt. 5, was charged at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct/fight with a dangerous weapon. He was held on a $55,000 cash bond and was arraigned Thursday.
Police said the male victim was injured in the head and was transported to the Backus Hospital, where he was treated and released. The object was not identified.
