Ledyard woman dies after crash on I-95 in Groton
Groton — A 42-year-old Ledyard woman involved in a June 10 motor vehicle crash on Interstate 95 here has died, state police said Monday.
Stephanie Babin, of 237 Haley Road in Ledyard, was driving a Ford Explorer north on Interstate 95 in Groton, north of exit 87, at 12:18 a.m. when police said the vehicle traveled off the right shoulder and back onto the highway where it rolled over. The vehicle slid across three lanes of the highway before coming to rest off the left shoulder.
Babin was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, state police said in a statement. It is unclear when she died. A passenger, 39-year-old Brian Maheu of the Wauregan section of Plainfield sustained minor injuries.
