    New London man faces gun, drug charges following search of his apartment

    New London — New London police on Thursday raided a Pearl Street apartment, where they said they seized drugs, a gun and charged the resident with operating a drug factory, among other charges.

    Police said they served a narcotics-related search and seizure warrant at 40 Pearl St., Apt. 11, where they seized 8.2 grams of cocaine, about 27 grams of marijuana, a loaded 9 mm handgun with a 16-round magazine, digital scales, drug paraphernalia and $6,045 in cash.

    Jeremy Dawson, 43, who resides at the apartment, is charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, possession of more than 1 ounce of marijuana, criminal possession of a firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine.

    Dawson is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition, police said.
