Norwich neighbor dispute leads to alleged racial slur, BB gun fire
Norwich — A woman was arrested on multiple charges and police are continuing to investigate a neighbor dispute that escalated into an alleged exchange of slurs followed by BB gun fire last Wednesday, Norwich police said.
Dalia N. Lassu, 26, of 3 Taftville-Occum Road was charged at 1:58 p.m. Wednesday with two counts of third-degree intimidation based on bigotry or race and one count each of second-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge of a firearm and third-degree criminal mischief. She was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 3 in Norwich Superior Court.
Police Lt. Tim Rykowski said Lassu and a neighbor have an ongoing feud. Lassu told police the neighbor called her a derogatory homosexual term, and Lassu responded by calling the neighbor the N-word. Police said Lassu then used a BB gun to shoot out a window in the neighbor’s home.
Rykowski said the investigation is continuing.
