Section of Route 1 in Stonington now closed after car hits bicycle
Stonington _ Route 1 in the vicinity of Cove Road is now closed after a male bicyclist was seriously injured when he was struck by a car about 2:20 p.m.
Police said the cyclist was brought to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment but was conscious at the scene. Both the cyclist and car were traveling west on Route 1.
Police said they expect the road to be closed for several hours as accident reconstruction team investigates the incident.
