North Stonington man dies in crash
North Stonington — State police said a 21-year-old North Stonington man died early Sunday after his car struck a tree on Ryder Road.
Police identified him as William Silva of 470 Cossaduck Hill Road.
According to an accident report, Silva was driving west on Ryder Road in a Nissan Altima about 3:12 a.m. He was exiting a curve, about six-tenths of a mile west of Hewitt Road, when for an unknown reason the car crossed the yellow dividing lines and traveled into the left shoulder, where it struck a tree and came to a final uncontrolled rest against it.
Silva was pronounced dead at the scene.
