Man charged for threatening woman and her small children in Norwich
Norwich — Police arrested a 25-year-old Rhode Island man Saturday on multiple charges related to his alleged erratic behavior and threatening a woman in Norwich.
Alexander Place of 256 James Trail, West Kingston, R.I., was arrested early Saturday following a 911 call from a woman who said she feared for her safety and that of her children, ages 4 and 8 months.
Police said they arrived to find Place belligerent and agitated. The victim told police Place had become agitated and was waving a gun around. She told police that Place had warned her if he got arrested “I am going to come back and kill your family.”
In a search of Place’s vehicle, police said they found a six-shot cylinder BB gun.
Place was charged with disorderly conduct, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, first-degree threatening and first-degree unlawful restraint. Police set Place’s bond at $25,000. He is due to appear Dec. 23 in Norwich Superior Court.
