Groton — A 27-year-old man was rescued Tuesday morning after his canoe capsized off of Esker Point, according to town police.

Spicer’s Marina workers recovered the man, who was wearing a life jacket, as first responders were arriving, town police said in a news release.

The Groton Emergency Communications Center had received a 911 call about 8:22 a.m. reporting that a man fell overboard and was clinging to the side of another small boat. People in several small boats had been duck hunting off Esker Point.
