Minds in Motion Comes to Madison

The first annual Minds in Motion academic enrichment event comes to the area on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Brown Middle School in Madison.

Jointly hosted by the Connecticut Association for the Gifted (CAG) and parents and educators from the Madison Public School District, Minds in Motion offers three hours of enrichment classes for children in grades K through 8.

"This is a great opportunity for students to explore learning in areas of their choice," said Superintendent of Schools David Klein. "Kindergartners can learn about animal adaptations or 8th graders can get an introduction to fractals and Future Problem Solving. The 29 student workshops provide experiences that stimulate students to learn about topics that are of interest to them."

While students are in classes, parents and teachers are also able to attend a free keynote address and workshops themselves. Participating teachers will be eligible to receive free continuing education units for the workshops they attend.

Registration for the Madison Minds in Motion is now open; all students in kindergarten through 8th grade are invited. Information on the program can be found on the CAG website, www.ctgifted.org, or Madison Public Schools' at www.madison.k12.ct.us.
