    Celtics 87, Suns 79

    Jeff Green scored 14 points, rookie Jared Sullinger added 12 points and a career-best 16 rebounds, and Boston recovered from a dreadful third quarter with a big rally to start the fourth and held off slumping Phoenix on Wednesday night.

    The Celtics survived a scoring drought that spanned almost half of the third quarter, scoring just 14 in the period before regaining the lead and taking command against the Suns.

    Jason Terry added 13 points as Boston's reserves outscored Phoenix's 47-16. Kevin Garnett was the only Boston starter to score in double figures, finishing with 10 points and five rebounds.

    The Celtics (18-17) have won four straight and are back above .500 for the first time in two weeks.

    Marcin Gortat had 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Suns.

    Thunder 106, Timberwolves 84

    Kevin Durant scored 26 points, Russell Westbrook added 23 and Oklahoma City overpowered outmanned Minnesota.

    The Timberwolves were missing All-Star forward Kevin Love and four others.

    Spurs 108, Lakers 105

    Tony Parker scored 24 points and the San Antonio handed slumping Los Angeles its fifth straight loss.

    Manu Ginobili added 19 points and Tiago Splitter and Stephen Jackson had 14 each for San Antonio.

    Kobe Bryant had 27 points, Metta World Peace added 23 and Earl Clark 22 for Los Angeles.

    Amir Johnson had 19 points and 12 rebounds, Jose Calderon added 14 points and 11 assists, and Toronto handed slumping Philadelphia its fifth straight loss.

    Jrue Holiday and Thaddeus Young each scored 16 points as the Sixers lost for the 13th time in 16 games.

    Cavaliers 99, Hawks 83

    Kyrie Irving scored 18 of his 33 points in the third quarter and injury-riddled Cleveland beat Atlanta.

    The Cavaliers, who had only 10 available players, announced earlier in the day that center Anderson Varejao will have surgery Thursday to repair a muscle that split near his right knee. He will miss six to eight weeks. Varejao was having an All-Star caliber season, averaging 14.1 points and an NBA-leading 14.4 rebounds.

    Bucks 104, Bulls 96

    Brandon Jennings scored 20 of his 35 points in the third quarter as Milwaukee had its second consecutive victory under interim coach Jim Boylan.

    Mike Dunleavy had 16 points and Monta Ellis finished with 14 for Milwaukee.

    Carlos Boozer had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls.

    Jazz 112, Bobcats 102

    Al Jefferson had 26 points and eight rebounds, and Utah beat Charlotte for its fourth win in five games.

    Paul Millsap chipped in with 19 points or 14 points for the Jazz.

    Hornets 88, Rockets 79

    Roger Mason scored 15 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter to rally New Orleans.

    Greivis Vasquez and Jason Smith each scored 17 points for the Hornets. James Harden scored 25 points for the Rockets.
