    Rochester routs Black Wolves 14-6

    Rochester, N.Y. - The Rochester Knighthawks scored just 20 seconds into the game and cruised to a 14-6 victory over the New England Black Wolves in a National Lacrosse League game on Saturday night.

    Pat Saunders and Kevin Buchanan each scored twice (4-11) for the Black Wolves, who get right back action Sunday when they play host to the Buffalo Bandits at Mohegan Sun Arena at 6 p.m.

    Cody Jamieson got the Knighthawks (12-5) on the board at the 20 seconds-mark and took 2-0 lead on Brad Self's goal before Saunders picked up his first goal of the game for the Black Wolves on an assist from Mark Cockerton at the 11:49 mark in the first quarter.

    Rochester dominated the second quarter, scoring four times. New England's Sheldon Burns picked up an unassisted goal for the second-consecutive game, but the Knighthawks took a 6-2 advantage into halftime.

    The Knighthawks took an 8-2 lead on two more quick scores to open the third quarter, but the Black Wolves rattled off three consecutive goals, including two from Buchanan within 24 seconds, to cut the advantage in half. It proved not to be enough as Rochester scored again to close out the quarter ahead 9-4. The Knighthawks added five more goals in the fourth quarter to close out the victory.

    Jamie Lincoln picked up New England's final goal in the fourth quarter. Cockerton had two assists for the Black Wolves. Jamieson and Joe Resetarits each had a hat trick for the Knighthawks, and Resetarits also contributed three assists.

    Evan Kirk took the loss in goal for New England, giving up 11 goals and recording 35 saves in 49 minutes of play. Angus Goodleaf had 32 saves in the win for Rochester.
