    Exploring Open Houses

Buyers have some compelling home options across the region, available to tour this weekend

    By Gretchen A. Peck

In conversations with local Realtors, things are still moving and shaking out in the southeast Connecticut real estate market. Properties are still fetching multiple offers and going under contract quickly. For buyers, that means there’s still some competition with which to contend, so it’s important to stay apprised of new homes coming to market. Here’s a snapshot of some of the Open Houses planned around the region this weekend:

    Norwich

The public is welcomed to an Open House this Saturday at 25 East Ave., Norwich, a 952-square-foot ranch. The listing brokers, Dale Bunn and Heather Ford-Bunn of Riverview Realty, suggest this home may be a compelling option for first-time homebuyers. Photo: Dale Bunn Photography

Broker-Owners of Riverview Realty, Dale Bunn and Heather Ford-Bunn are hosting an Open House at their new listing at 25 East Avenue in Norwich — offered to the market for $189,900. This is a two- or three-bedroom, 952-square-foot ranch, in a neighborhood setting on Norwich’s west side, not far from Lucas Park. Among the compelling attributes of the property are hardwood floors, a spacious kitchen, walk-out basement, off-street parking, and a 0.17-acre lot. The brokers suggest that this is a “perfect starter home,” and that it “should qualify for most forms of financing.” The Open House at 25 East Ave., Norwich is Saturday, November 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Newly listed, 209 Baker Avenue, Groton, is on the market for $229,500. Jacqueline Hoyt, with Coldwell Banker Realty, is the seller’s agent. This three-bedroom ranch has had a single owner for more than 60 years, according to Hoyt.
