H.S. soccer roundup: Daniewicz gives NFA girls 1-0 win over East Lyme
East Lyme — Sadie Daniewicz scored 10 minutes, 26 seconds into the second half to lift the Norwich Free Academy girls’ soccer team to a 1-0 victory over East Lyme in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I opener for both teams Wednesday.
NFA is 1-2 overall, East Lyme 2-1.

• Nicole Hudson scored twice as Montville beat Griswold 2-1 in the ECC Division III opener for both teams. Katie Myjak and Sienna Gressly combined for nine saves for Montville (1-1). Natalie Becotte scored for Griswold (0-2).
• Carleigh O’Keefe had a goal and two assists and Carly Constantine scored twice as Stonington beat Bacon Academy 4-1 in the ECC Division II opener for both teams. Iliana Rashleigh had a goal and an assist for Stonington (2-1).
• Allison Cioci scored on a header with five minutes left in the game as Waterford beat Plainfield 1-0. Camryn Dickinson assisted on the goal and Victoria Sturm made one save for Waterford (3-0).
• Ledyard beat Killingly 2-0 in the ECC Division II opener for both teams. Maddie McLeod and Sarah Bailey scored goals and Jess Dudley had five saves for Ledyard (3-0).
• Skylar Frost scored three goals as Williams School opened its season with a 5-2 win over Watkinson. Marlee Anselmi and Maria Morant also scored for the Blues.
• Grace Gelhaus scored twice as Woodstock Academy beat Fitch 5-1 in the ECC Division I opener for both teams. Grace Cosmopoulos scored a goal, Hannah Warner had an assist and Grace Jenkins made 34 saves for the Falcons (1-3).
• Hanna LeClaire scored once in each half as Tourtellotte beat Wheeler 2-0 in the ECC Division IV opener for both teams.
Boys
• Calvin Neff scored three goals as Williams School opened its season with a 6-5 win over Watkinson. Amand Sarwar scored twice and Anthony Luxton scored for the Blues, who trailed 3-1 at halftime.
• Bacon Academy scored twice in the second half and beat Granby 2-0 in a nonleague game. Steven Laliberte and Eddie Hageman scored goals and Evan St. Louis made three saves for the Bobcats (1-1-1).
• Montville scored five first-half goals to beat Plainfield 5-1 on Tuesday. Madden Brown scored twice, Colby Cowan and Carter Vasington each had a goal and an assist and Noah Keenan added a goal for Montville (1-1-1), which gave first-year head coach Chris Ouellette his first career victory. Nolan Muncaster and Luke Chapman each added an assist. Kaisen Mayernik scored for Plainfield.
• Lyman Memorial beat Wheeler 4-1 on Tuesday. Dave Levanto scored for Wheeler (0-2).
• Grasso Tech opened its season with a 5-1 loss to Windham Tech in a Constitution State Conference game on Tuesday. Reis Whitfield scored for Grasso with an assist from Samuel Galvis Hamann.
