    H.S. boys’ soccer roundup: East Lyme rallies to defeat NFA 3-1

    Norwich – East Lyme spotted Norwich Free Academy an early lead before roaring back to defeat the Wildcats 3-1 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I boys’ soccer match on Friday.

    NFA (1-2-1, 1-1) needed just three minutes to take a 1-0 lead when Rood Apolon set up Louis Hawkins for a goal.

    But the Vikings (3-1, 1-0) tied the game two minutes later on an unassisted goal by Connor Moran, then took charge with two goals in the final 10 minutes of the first half by Reid Dowling (penalty kick) and Luke Salan. Brendan Osso assisted on Salan’s goal.

    In other games:

    • Senior Matt Carroll scored his first two varsity goals as Wheeler beat Tourtellotte 3-0 in an ECC Division IV game. Keiran Boscoe also scored and Brody Pappas and Drew Deary had assists for Wheeler (1-2, 1-0) and Jon Anderson made two saves for the win.

    • Jose Pacheco scored both goals as St. Bernard defeated Putnam 2-0 in an ECC Division IV match. Ben Wenzel and Aidan Cass each had an assist for the Saints (2-0-1, 2-0) and goalie Dan O’Brien stopped five shots to earn the shutout.

    • Collin Marshall had two goals and one assist as East Hampton defeated Old Lyme 4-1 in the Shoreline Conference. Mason Bussman, assisted by Rowan Hovey, scored the lone goal for the Wildcats (2-2, 2-1) and goalie Jonah Lathrop made 10 saves.

    • Lyman Memorial and Killingly played to a 1-1 double overtime draw in an ECC Division III match. Kenyon Morrissette, assisted by Nicholas Chalifoux, scored in the first half for the Bulldogs (2-1-1, 0-0-1).

    • Asa Korczynski scored a pair of goals as Windham handed Griswold its first loss, 3-0, in an ECC Division III match. Dylan Fryer made 14 saves in goal for the Wolverines (2-1, 1-1).

    • Charles Morrison converted a penalty kick as Grasso Tech rallied to tie Cheney Tech 1-1 on Thursday in a Connecticut Technical Conference match. The Eagles are 0-1-1.
