    H.S. volleyball roundup: Griswold improves to 8-0 while Ledyard rallies past Fitch

    Griswold — Unbeaten Griswold improved to 8-0 with a 25-11, 24-17 and 25-16 volleyball win over Norwich Free Academy on Monday night.

    Kurando Ruggiero led the Wolverines with 23 assists, 13 digs and three kills while Abby Matheson added 10 kills, eight digs and three aces, Kierra Neilson eight kills, two blocks, four digs and one ace, and Emily Aviles 18 digs and three aces.

    Katelyn Friday had eight kills, six digs and two aces for the Wildcats (2-6) while Jillian Dykema added eight digs and four assists and Emma McAvoy had 12 assists.

    In other matches:

    • Ledyard rallied for a 3-2 victory over Fitch, winning by game scores of 15-25, 16-25, 25-21, 25-19 and 15-9. Layla Lasissophome had 22 assists for the Colonels (4-7) while Grace Heydash had 12 kills and eight digs, Aniya Pearson 12 blocks, Bryleigh Johnson 24 digs and Meghan Tabraham nine aces and seven kills. Annalyn Cahill and Madelyn Fancer had 14 kills each for the Falcons (5-5) while Katie Touhy added 10 kills, Isabella Ditmore 36 assists and Madelyn Aldinger 28 digs.

    • Norwich Tech defeated Grasso Tech 25-22, 25-21 and 25-20 in the Connecticut Technical Conference. Caitlyn Flynn eight eight digs, three aces and two assists to lead the Warriors (6-4, 5-2) while Kaylee Gray added six aces, and three digs. Antonia Orbe had eight service points and five assists for the Eagles (1-7, 1-6) while Emma Pavlak had seven points and seven kills.

    • East Lyme outlasted Bacon Academy 3-1. Game scores were 28-26, 22-25, 25-19 and 26-24. Skylar Bell had 25 digs, Megan Nagle 10 digs and Abby Parulis 16 kills for the Vikings (7-3) while Megan Swanke had 10 digs, Meghan Walsh 10 kills and Kiera Stewart 39 assists for the Bobcats (5-6).

    • Waterford dropped the first game to Woodstock Academy 25-23 before roaring back to win three straight games 25-16, 25-22 and 26-24. Mia Petrini had 13 digs and three aces for the Lancers (8-3) while Lillian Steinhaus had 29 assists, 10 digs, five aces and five kills, Marina Colonis had nine digs, eight kills and two aces, and Emerson Lane had 13 digs, five aces and four blocks.

    • Morgan came back to defeat Old Lyme 21-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-23 and 15-8 in the Shoreline Conference. Quinn Arico had 11 kills and 11 assists for the Wildcats (2-7, 2-7) while Peighton Andrews finished with seven aces and six kills, Grace Phaneuf 17 assists and Kaitlyn Ward five blocks.

    • Arianna Garcia had 18 digs and three aces to highlight Lyman Memorial’s 3-1 victory over Windham. Game scores were 25-16, 24-26, 25-2 and 25-9. Mia Attardi added 15 digs for the Bulldogs (8-2) while Nina Gardella had eight aces, Kassidy LaTour 12 kills and seven assists, Erica Arpin 10 aces and Carlee DeRoehn 21 digs and 11 assists.

    • Killingly got the best of Montville 3-1. Reagan Buscetto had four digs and an ace for Montville (4-7) while Ava Collins added five aces, four kills and two blocks.
