    Local roundup: El Khoury leads Fitch to victory in girls’ basketball

    Willimantic ― Mariette El Khoury scored 33 points as had 13 rebounds as Fitch beat Windham 78-58 in a girls’ basketball game on Thursday night.

    Gabby Dimock had 21 points and five steals, Dre’Ana Singleton had 10 points and five assists and Ada Ellis had 14 rebounds and five steals for Fitch (6-2). Jaelize Rivera led Windham with 20 points.

    In other games:

    • Jennie Macca-Barnes had 18 points and eight rebounds as Waterford beat Wheeler 58-18. Lucy Walker had 12 points and eight rebounds, Sarah Davidson had 11 points and Julia Knowles had 10 points, four assists and three steals for Waterford (2-6). Marissa Perkins led Wheeler (2-6) with seven points and five rebounds.

    • St. Bernard beat Portland 46-37 in a nonleague game. Angelica Tompkins scored 32 points for the Saints (4-4).

    • Windham Tech led 31-8 at halftime and went on to beat Grasso Tech 57-26 in a Connecticut Technical Conference game. Sophie Byrne led Grasso (1-7) with 14 points. Isabella DeJesus scored 18 to lead Windham Tech.

    Boys’ basketball

    • Devan Williams scored 30 points as New London beat Crosby 75-67 in a nonleague game. Xavier Goode had 18 points, De’Shaun Phillips scored 13, SaVahn Warren scored eight and Josh Dixon had 11 rebounds for the Whalers (6-2).

    • Jaiden Lopez scored 36 points as Lyman Memorial defeated Norwich Tech 64-46 in a non-conference game on Wednesday night. Ben Darrow added seven points and five rebounds for the Bulldogs (7-2) and Kevin Botticello had six points and seven rebounds. Josh Hanks had 14 points and five steals for the Warriors (1-7) while John Mastorakis added 11 points and eight rebounds and Jack Gahrman had 11 points.

    • Tourtellotte defeated Grasso Tech 68-43 in a non-conference game on Wednesday night. Caleb Brennan led the Eagles (2-6) with 16 points while Kevon Wilson added 12 and Charis Johnson 10.

    Women’s basketball

    • Amina Wiley had 13 points and 14 rebounds as Mitchell College beat Wesleyan 85-75. Dede Stevenson scored 20 points, Sam McKenna had 14 points and five assists, Yasmine Santos had 12 points and New London’s Jamya Beddoe scored 10 for the Mariners (7-8).

    H.S. hockey

    • Nick Rembish scored a pair of goals as the Eastern CT Eagles beat Suffield/Glastonbury/Windsor Locks 4-3 in a Nutmeg Hockey Conference game on Wednesday. Owen Pazzaglia had a goal and three assists and Cam McCollum made 21 saves for the Eagles (4-3, 2-1). Ethan LoVetere had a goal and two assists and Drew Sager and Declan York had a goal and an assist each and Spencer Sherman had an assist for the Eagles.

    H.S. wrestling

    • Griswold/Wheeler coasted to a 60-21 win over Bacon Academy in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division III match on Wednesday night. The Wolverines (8-6, 2-0) received pins from Seth Christie (113), Cody Comeau (120), Jeffrey Brantley (138), Rylee Kenny (145), Jesse Costley (160), Liam Gervais (182) and Michael Caplbo (195), while Jay Wikarksa (126), Gabriel Mahon (152) and Dante Colella (170) had pins for Bacon (2-12, 1-2).
