    H.S. roundup: Old Lyme baseball wins sixth straight with 10-5 win over Hale-Ray in Shoreline

    Moodus — Old Lyme pulled away with six runs in the fourth inning and went on to beat Hale-Ray, 10-5, Monday in Shoreline Conference baseball action.

    Grady Lacourciere’s three-run double highlighted the outburst for the Wildcats (13-3, 12-3), who have won six straight. He finished with three hits and also was the winning pitcher, allowing five hits and three runs and striking out seven in four innings.

    Rowen Meisner chipped in two hits and two RBI and also scored a run for Old Lyme

    In other games:

    • Joe Stawski pitched a two-hitter, striking out five and walking two, to lead East Lyme past New London, 10-0. Connor Tukey chipped in three hits and two RBI while Gavin O’Brien and Quinn Killoy each had two hits and Alex Dreyfus added a hit and two RBI for the Vikings (13-2). Landon Hill and Henry Santana-Liriano had the only hits for the Whalers (5-9), who had their five-game winning streak snapped.

    • Jacob Citro’s RBI double in the seventh inning handed Lyman Memorial a 4-3 win over Coventry. Jared Russo doubled and scored while Mike Incontro had an RBI double and Ben Darrow allowed five hits and two runs in five innings for the Bulldogs (7-6).

    • Jack Ballou had three hits and two RBI and winning pitcher Vinny Morabito struck out eight in five innings, leading Fitch past Ledyard, 11-1. Isaac Frank and Isaiah Anderson had two hits apiece for the Falcons (8-7). The Colonels fell to 1-14.

    • Reynaldo Hidalgo’s RBI double lifted Grasso Tech past Windham Tech, 5-4. Hidalgo finished with three hits and Gabe Grossman was the winning pitcher for the Eagles (9-6).

    Boys’ golf

    • Portland’s Luke Stennett shot a 1-over-par 72 to earn medalist honors and lead the Highlanders to the team title in the annual Wildcat Invitational at the Norwich Golf Course. Portland finished with a team total of 308 while Killingly finished second with 316. Shelton’s Cameron St. Pierre finished second with a 73 and Killingly’s Cam Seiffert and East Catholic’s Shane Luca tied for thrid at 76.

    Stonington finished tied for eighth (359) as Ethan Torres and Connor Tavares each shot 88, while host NFA was 10th (369) led by Nick Wigfield’s 83 and Fitch finished 11th (427) led by Charlie Bergendahl’s 90.

    • Grasso Tech finished with a team stroke total of 200 to beat Kaynor Tech (209) at Pequot Golf Course. The Eagles are 2-7-1.

    Girls’ golf

    • Mary Haburay shot a team-best 52 for East Lyme in a 212-228 loss to Woodstock. Maya Orbegozo was the medalist for the Centaurs with a 44.

    Girls’ lacrosse

    • Lucy Fader had five goals, one assist, six draw controls and five ground balls for the Williams School in a 19-11 loss at Hamden Hall. Skyler Frost had two goals and two assists while Ally Iacobellis had two goals and Maria Morant and Skyler Raymond each added one for the Blues.

    Volleyball

    • Norwich Free Academy lost in five sets to Wolcott Tech, falling by game scores of 25-16, 26-25, 24-26, 32-30 and 14-16. Gage Hinkley had 13 kills, four digs, four blocks and four aces while Jhon Lopez added 25 digs and Paul Ericson chipped in 37 assists, 11 digs, seven kills and two aces for the Wildcats (12-4).
