    H.S. softball: Lyman girls edge St. Bernard 6-4 and remain atop ECC Division IV standings

    Lebanon — Lyman Memorial remained in first place in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division IV softball standings with a 6-4 win over St. Bernard on Monday.

    The Bulldogs trailed 3-1 entering the bottom of the fifth and seized the lead by scoring five runs. They improved to 11-3 overall, 5-0 in the division, and have won nine straight games.

    Kassidy LaTour went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and pitched a complete game for Lyman. Loretta Svedarsky had a single and two RBI and Natani Spears had a double and RBI.

    Olivia Kane had a single, double and two RBI for the Saints (8-6, 3-2) and Anabelle Wenzel added a single and RBI.

    In other games:

    • Jazlyn Small Yu had a single and two-run home run for Bacon Academy in a 7-6 loss to Killingly in an ECC Division II game. Sammi D’Atri chipped in three doubles and three RBI for the Bobcats (2-8, 1-4). Izabella Robbins led Killingly (9-6) with three hits and three runs scored.

    • Winning pitching Alina Skrabacz allowed two hits and struck out 14 and also had two hits and an RBI in New London’s 13-1, 5-inning win over Windham. Italia Salls had two hits and an RBI and Yomairis Santiago had a single and scored three runs for the Whalers (4-8).

    • Bri Plew went 4 for 5 with a triple and two RBI in Stonington’s 16-3 win over Montville in ECC Division III action. Cami Brown had two singles, a double and two RBI while Sophia Dutra homered and Kelsea Anderson had a single and two doubles for the Bears (10-4, 5-0). Ava Gero had two singles and Almaz Sklodosky had two RBI for Montville (3-13, 2-3).

    • Wheeler rolled past Tourtelotte, 25-13, in an ECC Division IV game that went five innings. Victoria Kleeman contributed two doubles and two RBI while Addie Stanley had two hits, a walk and three RBI and Isabella Deledda added two hits and three RBI for the Lions (7-5, 3-2).

    • Emma Bayor pitched a two-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts, leading Old Lyme past Hale Ray, 1-0, in the Shoreline Conference. Ava Roth’s RBI triple accounted for the winning run and Maddie Krol had a single and scored a run for the Wildcats (12-1, 9-1).

    • Maegan Miller, Faith Dalton and Layla Lasisomphone each went 2 for 4 with an RBI to power Ledyard past Woodstock Academy, 6-3, in an ECC Division II game. The Colonels are 7-8, 3-2.

    • No. 10 Coventry scored four unearned runs in the fourth inning and held on to beat East Lyme, 6-2. Arleen McKiernan had a triple and Grace DuBrava had an RBI single for the Vikings (8-5).

    • Norwich Tech improved to 14-2 overall, 8-0 in the Connecticut Technical Conference, with a 20-0 shutout of Ellis Tech in a game that lasted five innings. Winning pitcher Caity Flynn struck out 10 and allowed two hits while also going 4 for 4 at the plate with a triple and three RBI. Morgan Cook had a single, two doubles and four RBI and Autumn Hanks added a home run and a single.
