    H.S. lacrosse: Montville girls get the best of NFA as Wildcats’ Page, Friedrich hit milestones

    Norwich — Lily Tomczik had 10 goals and an assist to lead Montville to a 15-12 girls’ lacrosse victory over Norwich Free Academy on Tuesday night.

    Regan Buscetto added two goals and four assists for Montville (5-7) while Kylie Spreng had two goals and one assist and Bella Estelle scored a goal.

    The Wildcats (4-7) had two players reach milestones. Molly Page scored five goals, including the 100th of her career, while Lauren Friedrich had six goals and two assists and surpassed 100 points for her career.

    Hayleigh Young added one goal and one assist for NFA.

    In other games:

    • Marin Mahoney scored four goals as Waterford outlasted Fitch 10-8. Victoria Sturm added three goals, Payton Smith two and Quinn Brigham one for the Lancers (8-4) while Sophia Clang had have goals for the Falcons (2-10), Karli Batty had two goals and three assists and Bethany Lovering had a goal and an assist.

    • Sydney Goulding had seven goals and three assists to highlight Old Lyme’s 22-8 win over Cromwell in the Shoreline Conference. Kelly Sheehan also scored seven goals for the Wildcats (9-3, 7-2) while Ella Curtiss Reardon added four goals and three assists, Gretchen Burgess and Grace Ferman each had one goal and one assist, Alexis Antonellis and Abby O’Brien each scored a goal and Anne Marie Hinckley had an assist.

    • Olivia Mayorga scored two goals during St. Bernard’s 8-4 loss to Killingly. Catherine Hannaford made 13 saves in goal for the Saints (2-9).

    • Sophia Gouveia scored eight goals as Wheeler defeated Griswold/Norwich Tech 16-6 on Monday night in an ECC Division IV game. Grace Cassata added four goals and two assists for the Lions (5-4, 4-2), Rose Tardiff, Ava Vangieri, Ellen Anderson and Stella Mastroianni had one goal apiece and goalie Anna Barber made 17 saves. Griswold/Norwich Tech is 5-6, 3-4.

    Boys

    • Will French scored there goals while winning 26 of 29 faceoffs as Stonington remained unbeaten in ECC Division II play with a 20-6 win over Montville. Ethan Mahoney had four goals and two assists for the Bears (11-1, 7-0) while Tyler Simao added three goals and three assists, Nathan Mahoney two goals and four assists, Cam Elenteny two goals and one assist, Logan Christina two goals, Ben Massengale a goal and two assists, Jackson Hayes one goal and one assist and Cooper Light and Maclan Griscom each scored a goal. Jayden Sherwood had three goals and an assist for Montville (4-7, 2-5).

    • Gavin Emmons scored seven goals and Jack Holmes had seven assists as Bacon Academy rolled to a 15-1 ECC Division II win over St. Bernard/Wheeler. Ethan LoVetere added four goals for the Bobcats (8-5, 5-1) while Ethan Foley had two goals and one assist and Jameson Pirro one goal and three assists. Ben Howes scored the lone goal for the Saints (3-8, 2-4).

    • John Buckley had a five-point day (2 goals, 3 assists) as Old Lyme defeated Cromwell 8-2 in the Shoreline Conference. Mason Bussman added three goals and one assist for the Wildcats (3-10, 2-7) while Colman Curtis-Reardon scored twice, Macklin Cushman had a goal and two assists, and goalie Joseph Montazella made 13 saves.

    • RHAM defeated Ledyard/Griswold 11-3 in a nonleague game. Arawn Makuchkowski scored two goals for the Colonels (0-13) while Dylan Freyer had a goal and six ground balls, Cortland Ruggerio had six ground balls and Liam Gervais made eight saves.

    • Waterford built a 6-0 lead after one quarter and cruised to a 14-5 win over Woodstock Academy in an ECC Division I game. Trevor Stringer had a six-point game for the Lancers (10-4, 5-2) while Jackson Huta finished with four goals and one assist, Johan Deon and Tarance Silva each scored twice, Griffin Neal had one goal and one assist, Ayden Bousquet and Ben Dubicki had one goal apiece and goalie Dylan McCarthy made eight saves.
