    Local roundup: Fitch tops New London in ECC Div. I girls’ basketball

    Groton —Gabby Dimock scored 21 points and had 11 rebounds as Fitch beat No. 6 New London, 54-44, in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I girls’ basketball game on Tuesday night.

    Mariette El Khoury had 19 points for the Falcons (4-4, 2-1). Serenity Lancaster had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Whalers (4-2, 2-1).

    In other games:

    • Emily Orcutt scored 16 points as Norwich Free Academy defeated Waterford 55-33. NFA is 4-4. Jennie Macca Barnes had seven points and eight rebounds and Audrey Steward 10 rebounds for the Lancers (0-6).

    • Abby Ulrich scored 11 points and Norwich Tech defeated Wheeler, 32-25. The Warriors are 3-4. Abby Butremovic led the Lions (1-5) with 12 points.

    • Ledyard beat Griswold 64-43. Adrianna Hardison had 17 points and Maggie Dykes scored 13 for the Colonels (3-3). Abby Matheson had 12 points and Natalie Becotte scored nine for Griswold (1-4).

    Boys’ basketball

    • Jerry Santiago had 22 points and eight rebounds as Grasso Tech defeated Ellis Tech, 61-55. Charis Johnson had nine points, 14 rebounds and eight assists for the Eagles (2-3).

    • Zane Brewer scored 20 points and Wheeler defeated Tourtellotte, 54-41, in ECC Div. IV. Deondre Bransford had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Lions (4-2, 2-0).

    • Parker Spencer had 15 points, five assists and three steals as Waterford beat Ledyard 51-36 in an ECC Division II game. Jordi Cassar had 13 points and three steals and Juan Morel Jr. had nine rebounds for the Lancers (2-3, 2-0). Alex Kiss-Vega led the Colonels (2-5, 0-2) with 21 points.

    • Da’Shaun Phillips scored 23 points and Savahn Warren added 20 as New London defeated Norwich Free Academy, 71-58 in ECC Div. I. The Whalers are 6-1, 2-0. Armanee Davis had 16 for NFA (2-4, 0-3) and Ethan Graham scored 12.

    • Amyre Gray had 25 points and St. Bernard defeated East Lyme, 73-47, in ECC Div. I. Amare Marshall scored 15 for St. Bernard (5-2, 1-0). Brendan Osso had 13 points for East Lyme (4-2, 1-2).

    • RHAM exploded for 28 points in the second period and defeated Bacon Academy, 81-59. Troy Johnson had 17 to lead Bacon.

    H.S. boys’ swimming

    • Amity beat East Lyme/NFA 93-71 in an ECC/SCC meet. Mingwen Duan won the 100 backstroke (1:04.23) and Albert Zhu won the 100 breaststroke (1:09.62) for the Vikings (0-3) and the team of Zhuang Foerster, Morcos Duan, Minogu Miltenberger and Walsh Pappa won the 400 freestyle relay (3:50.55).

    Women’s hockey

    • Connecticut College skated to a 1-1 tie in a nonleague game with Wesleyan. Casey Chesner and Casey Godfrey scored first-period goals to give the Camels (5-3-2) a 2-0 lead. Kylie McCarthy had a pair of assists and Kate Hagness and Jess Pistorino had an assist each for Conn.
