    H.S. lacrosse: Katko leads Blues to victory

    Waterford — The Williams School boys’ lacrosse team scored a season high 16 goals Saturday en route to a 16-6 win over Wooster.

    Batko Katko had five goals, Brendan Li had two goals and four assists and Tyler Gagliardi three goals for the Blues (8-1).

    In other games:

    • Old Lyme defeated Montville, 11-7. Macklin Cushman scored six goals for Old Lyme (3-5) and Mason Bussman scored three. Chris Baukus scored four times for the Wolves (2-9) and had an assist, reaching the 100th-point mark.

    • Fitch defeated Norwalk, 22-5. Roman Rich scored seven goals for Fitch (7-3) and Tate Gordon had five goals and five assists.

    •RHAM defeated St. Bernard/Wheeler, 6-2. Ben Howes and Noah Courter scored for the Saints (5-3).

    • Drew Sager scored nine goals and East Lyme defeated Avon, 18-9. Jack Campbell scored four goals for the Vikings (5-3).

    • Ledyard/Griswold earned its first win, 16-0 over Windsor. Lucas Wannamaker had seven goals for the Colonels (1-8) and Cortland Ruggiero scored four.

    • Bacon Academy lost to Northwest Catholic 18-5. Ethan LoVotere had three goals, Tanner Kundhal had two goals and an assist and Boden Paul had two assists for the Bobcats (5-2).

    Girls

    • Cromwell defeated New London/St. Bernard, 14-8. Keshvi Patel scored four goals and Catherine Hannaford had 13 saves for the Whalers (0-9).

    • Montville defeated Wheeler, 12-10. Kylie Spreng scored eight goals for the Wolves (3-3) while Bella Estelle and Karissa Hochdorfer had two goals apiece. Sophie Gouveia scored five goals for Wheeler (4-3).

    • Quinn Brigham scored four goals as Waterford defeated Old Saybrook, 14-3. Katie Jamroga and Madison LaForte had three goals apiece for the Lancers (7-1) and Sadie Tiven scored twice.

    • Longmeadow, Mass., defeated East Lyme, 11-7. Taylor Kachinsky, Jessica Knapp 2G and Riddhi Venkatesh had two goals apiece for the Vikings (3-6).

    • Skylar Frost had six goals, five assists and seven ground balls as Williams School beat Wooster 16-9. Ally Iacobellis scored four goals, Elle Reid had two goals and an assist and Skylar Raymond scored twice for the Blues (7-4).

    Williams rallied for a 14-9 win over Christian Heritage on Friday. The Blues trailed 9-7 before scoring five unanswered goals. Reid scored two of her three goals in the fourth quarter and also had two assists. Frost scored eight goals with two assists, Brooke McLoughlin had a goal, an assist and four ground balls and Chloe Crimmins made nine saves for Williams.
