Wonderful ‘Wonderettes’
The Ivoryton Playhouse wraps its 2022 season up in a bow … in the form of a holiday musical.
The theater is staging “Winter Wonderettes” from Nov. 17 through Dec. 18, and the show is chock full of 1960s takes on such Christmas tunes as “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” and “Winter Wonderland.”
The story into which these songs are set: Ol’ Saint Nick goes missing, so the women entertaining at the Essex Hardware Holiday Party have to dive in to save the festivities.
The cast boasts Katie M. Bates, Daron Elaine Cockerell, Meagan Lewis-Michelson, and Emily Kay Shrader. J. Clayton Winters directs, and Elizabeth McGuire choreographs.
