And in the group’s work that its performers will stage at Connecticut College on Friday, the themes are big. The piece “The Equality of Night and Day” examines “the concepts of balance, equity, and fairness in light of the conflicting present-day issues that young people, women, and people of color now face in a world where exploitation, gentrification, racism, and xenophobia are on the rise.”

The show will also feature works Brown originally choreographed for the Alvin Alley Company, “Open Door” and “Grace.”

The performance at Conn College follows a critically acclaimed run at New York City’s Joyce Theater.

    Ronald K. Brown/Evidence, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Athey Center, Palmer Auditorium, Connecticut College, 270 Mohegan Ave., New London: $28, $25 seniors, $14 students; (860) 439-2787, onstage.conncoll.edu.
