    David Spade to play Foxwoods

You know how some comics are tortured or dour souls offstage?

David Spade doesn’t seem to be one of them. He’d likely be fun to hang around, as he riffed and snarked and joked about himself.

Or you could watch him do that during one of his standup gigs — as he will Saturday on Foxwoods. It should be a good show; he’s pretty damned funny.

And if you don’t know Spade from anything other than “Saturday Night Live,” well, you haven’t been paying attention. His TV series have included “Just Shoot Me” (Spade was nominated for an Emmy and Golden Globe for that) and “Rules of Engagement.” And let’s not forget his movies with “SNL” pals, from “Tommy Boy” to “Grown Ups.” Oh, and “Joe Dirt” and “Dickie Roberts!”

And you must have watched his 2020 Netflix flick “The Wrong Missy” during those early months of the pandemic, right?

David Spade, 8 p.m. Saturday, Great Cedar Showroom, Foxwoods; $53-$93; foxwoods.com.
