Granite Theatre stage ‘Guys and Dolls’

“Guys and Dolls” has one of the best scores in musical comedy history. It’s got “Luck Be a Lady,” “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” “I’ve Never Been in Love Before,” “Fugue for Tinhorns,” “A Bushel and a Peck,” and on it goes.

Granite Theatre in Westerly is staging this classic starting July 6.

In “Guys and Dolls,” a gambler tries to organize the biggest craps game in New York City. His girlfriend, meanwhile, bemoans their 14-year engagement without a wedding. And another gambler takes a shine to a female missionary. Romantic and other complications ensue.

    “Guys and Dolls,” July 6-23, Granite Theatre, 1 Granite St., Westerly; 7:30 p.m. Thurs.-Sat. and 2 p.m. Sun.; $30-$35; (401) 596-2341, granitetheatre.org.
