Malloy to visit region on Sunday
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will visit Montville, Griswold and Sterling on Sunday, where he will meet with town officials and residents to discuss power outage and other issues the towns have experienced resulting from Irene.
The Governor’s schedule on Sunday is as follows:
10 a.m. – Town of Montville, meet with Mayor Joseph Jaskiewicz at the Montville Town Hall (310 Norwich-New London Turnpike, Uncasville)
11 a.m. – Town of Griswold, meet with First Selectman Philip Anthony, Jr. at the Griswold Town Hall (28 Main Street, Jewett City)
Noon – Town of Sterling, meet with First Selectman Russel Gray at the Sterling Town Hall (1183 Plainfield Pike, Sterling).
Late Friday night, the White House announced that President Obama will make federal aid available to the state and local governments for recovering efforts.
