    Southeast Connecticut residents celebrate U.S. citizenship

    A young girl whose mother, originally from Poland, is one of 20 people taking the Oath of Allegiance during a naturalization ceremony at New Britain Stadium to become U.S. citizens Wednesday, July 3, 2013. A total of 13 countries of origin are represented.

    New Britain - Twenty candidates originating from 13 countries received U.S. citizenship Wednesday in a ceremony at New Britain Stadium. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, USCIS, presented the candidates to the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and U.S. District Judge Warren W. Eginton.

A total of 13 countries of origin are represented. Gaudreau is originally from Canada, and is a Vietnam veteran, who has waited 60 years for this.
