Waterbury woman allegedly threatened man at gunpoint in 'road rage' incident

DANBURY — A Waterbury woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly threatening to kill a man during a "road rage" incident, according to police.

Danielle Barnaby, 43, of Wood Street, was charged with threatening, reckless endangerment and breach of peace, Sgt. John Krupinsky said in an email.

Officers received a call from a man reporting that a female driver had pointed a gun at him around 4 p.m. Thursday, Krupinsky said.

"The victim stated that he had been traveling south on Main Street very slowly looking for a business. He stated that the operator behind him started blowing the horn. When the victim stopped at the red light ..., the accused pulled up alongside him and was yelling at him through the window. He stated it was at this time she pointed a handgun at him and stated I will kill you," said Krupinsky. "She then sped away."

Bethel police stopped the Barnaby just over the town line, Krupinsky said. The suspect was found with a Ruger LCP .380 caliber handgun, police said.

Barnaby was held in lieu of a $75,000 bond, police said.
