    Vehicle crashes into liquor store

TOLLAND — A vehicle hit the exterior wall of Village Spirit Shop on Merrow Road on Tuesday afternoon, pushing the wall inward and causing hundreds of liquor bottles to come crashing to the floor inside.

State police said no one was injured in crash, but both the vehicle and building have minor damage.

The driver was cooperative with police when they arrived, and the vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.

Town Manager Brian Foley said the neighboring businesses, NAPA and Papa T's, were not affected.

Fire Marshal Robert DaBica said this morning that the business is not expected to reopen today and he is unsure of the timeline until officials can get a look at the damage to the interior of the wall.

The owners were allowed into the store today to clear the bottles from the floor as well as the bottles that remain on the shelf so the fire marshal and building inspector can have access to the damaged wall.
