Metro-North suspends service after train strikes car

A train struck a car in Norwalk on Wednesday.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority at about 10:17 a.m. said Metro-North Railroad services were suspended at the Danbury Branch between South Norwalk and Wilton because of the collision.

The Norwalk Police Department said the crash closed Crescent Street from Butler Street to North Water Street until about noon.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured in the crash, which involved a Subaru vehicle.

Norwalk police said they assisted MTA police in their investigation.

Railroad services that were suspended resumed at about 12:30 p.m., according to the MTA.
