Former Greenwich teacher gets probation for inappropriate texts

GREENWICH, Conn. — A former theater teacher at a Connecticut private school has been sentenced to two years' probation for sending inappropriate text messages to a 15-year-old student.

The Stamford Advocate reports that 25-year-old Jesse Lozano, of New York City, pleaded guilty this week to a charge of felony risk of injury to a minor.

Police say Lozano tried to lure a female student from the Greenwich school to his Brooklyn home. They also say he discussed theater topics with her in an inappropriate manner. The girls' parents discovered the messages, and she did not go to Lozano's home.

Lozano apologized for the messages and said they were out of character for him. His attorney called the plea a fair resolution to the case.
