2 dead, 1 revived after series of overdoses in Hartford

HARTFORD (AP) — Hartford police say two people have died and another has been revived after overdosing in the city's South End.

First responders were called to an apartment building Friday night on reports of multiple unconscious people.

Officials say one person died at the scene and two others were revived with an overdose reversal drug. Authorities say one of the people revived died while being brought to a hospital.

Police say it appears the three people each took one pill that made them ill. Officials say there were no pills left to analyze and investigators will have to wait for blood test results to see what was in the pills.

Authorities noted fentanyl-laced pills resembling prescription painkillers have been seized worldwide and urged people to know the origin of any pills they take.
