Search resumes for missing teenage swimmer

NEW MILFORD, Conn. (AP) — The search for a teenager who went missing while swimming at a Connecticut lake on Memorial Day has resumed.

The News-Times of Danbury reports that rescue crews started searching Candlewood Lake in New Milford on Tuesday morning.

Authorities have not released the 17-year-old boy's name.

Police Sgt. Jim Dzamko says the boy was with friends on Monday when he went missing in an area known as Dike Point Park where the water is 20 to 30 feet deep.

Dr. Ralph Tremaglio was on the hos boat with his family when he heard three teenage boys yelling for help. He tells WFSB-TV they told him their friend had a panic attack or anxiety attack while swimming and went under.
