Former Connecticut charter school teacher charged with sexual assault
HARTFORD — A former Connecticut high school teacher has been charged with having sex with a 16-year-old student.
Police say 30-year-old Patrick Dodds, of Bloomfield, was arrested in Enfield, New Hampshire at the request of Connecticut authorities.
The former ninth-grade math teacher at Achievement First High School faces charges of second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
Bloomfield police received a report from state child welfare authorities in September that a student at the Hartford charter school was having “sexual intercourse with a teacher.”
Dodds is being held as a fugitive at a New Hampshire jail on $100,000 bond until he is can be brought back to Connecticut on Wednesday. His case was not entered in online state judicial records and it was unclear if he had an attorney.
