Storrs — Maya Moore had 29 points and nine rebounds to lead the second-ranked UConn women’s basketball team to an 87-51 victory over No. 3 Duke before 10,031 fans Monday night at Gampel Pavilion, leading 41-15 at halftime.

Tiffany Hayes had 20 points and Kelly Faris 14 for UConn (21-1), with Faris hitting four 3-pointers. The Huskies outrebounded Duke 49-28, led by freshman center Stefanie Dolson with 12.

Previously unbeaten Duke (20-1) did not score until Shay Selby’s basket at the 14:55 mark of the first half, after Blue Devils’ coach Joanne P. McCallie had already called two timeouts. Duke was one for its first 20 shooting and 5-for-32 at halftime.

Jasmine Thomas had 13 points for Duke.

UConn’s Moore scored in double figures for the 134th time in her career, tying the NCAA record held by Oklahoma’s Courtney Paris.
