Deep River, CT – On Thursday, October 24, the Valley Regional High School field hockey squad will take to the field for their last regular season home game against Westbrook High School and honor two long-standing team traditions. This year “SENIORS” game, where all senior players are recognized during a pre-game ceremony and are together in the varsity game starting lineup, will have an extra meaning as the team also plays their annual “PINK” game held each year in conjunction with the Westbrook High School team. Preparations are being made now for the “pinking” of the field and players and for a special half-time fundraising effort, all to raise awareness and donations for breast cancer research . The program starts at 3:45 p.m. with the varsity game scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. Game admission is free and all are encouraged to come out to show support for the Valley Warriors seniors and breast cancer awareness and research.
