Pop star Enrique Iglesias performs at Foxwoods
No good can come of these drones, right?
Too much potential for kookery.
It must be said, though, that pop star/heartthrob Enrique Iglesias made the best of it when, during a concert in Tijuana last year, he cut his hand on a drone (!). With his finger dipped in blood. Iglesias drew a big heart all over his T-shirt — and that image inspired a shirt being used to by Iglesias and the Connecticut-based Save the Children charity.
Sales of the shirt online and at Iglesias concerts benefit a new project by the singer and Save the Children called #Hearts4Kids — the goal of which is to help kids in crises and emergencies.
Iglesias performs tonight and Friday in the Grand Theater at Foxwoods — just in time for Valentine's Day. In a surprise move, members of Save the Children will present the singer with a bevy of handmade valentines from kids in Typhoon Halyan-affected communities who benefited from the #Hearts4Kids campaign.
The gesture, combined with Iglesias' always stunning and hits-packed shows, should make this a memorable two-night stand.
Enrique Iglesias, 7:30 tonight and 8 p.m. Friday, Grand Theater, Foxwoods; $85-$300; 1-800-200-2882.
