That sustained, high-pitch noise you'll hear Thursday and Friday? Don't worry. It's just the sound of thousands of tween and teen girls squealing over a certain boy band that's playing Mohegan Sun Arena.

It's 5 Seconds of Summer, or 5SOS, for those in the know.

It's been a fast and furious rise to success for the members of this Aussie rock band. They morphed from YouTube figures into worldwide music stars, a transformation helped along by their touring with One Direction in 2013.

The group — Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin — went on to release a self-titled studio album in 2014 and then "Sounds Good Feels Good" in 2015. They're following that up with a packed touring schedule that currently extends into October. For now, though, it's two days of Summer in the Sun.

5 Seconds of Summer, 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Mohegan Sun Arena; with One OK Rock, Hey Violet; $54.50, $75.50; mohegansun.com.
