Monkey68 plays The Day's 'Live Lunch Break' Thursday
Waterford singer-songwriter Vince Tuckwood — originally from the UK — can seemingly write great pop tunes at will. Strongly influenced by such masters as Neil Finn, Nick Drake and Paul Weller, Tuckwood coalesces strong verse/chorus melodies, punchy guitar/bass/drums arrangements and a storyteller's gift for narrative.
With his trio Monkey68 — bassist Craig Johnson and drummer Trevor Chandonnait — Tuckwood guests on Thursday's edition of The Day's "Live Lunch Break" concert series in New London's Hygienic Art Park. Showtime's at noon — and arrive hungry. Parade Café will provide sumptuous savories.
Live Lunch Break, noon Thursday, Hygienic Art Park, 79 Bank St., New London; free; theday.com/livelunch.
